It’s a massage type for people that are physically active and looking to help reduce niggles and enhance recovery. However you don’t have to be sporty to get one

Yes. The pressure and techniques can be adapted to when you are next due to exercise.

We don’t personally provide it for pregnant women, and would advise that you seek out a pregnancy massage if pregnant.

They can be uncomfortable and a bit sore in some areas, but the pressure is adaptable so as to not make it painful.. Unless you want it to be somewhat sore.

Not directly. A systematic review by Davies et al. (2020) looked at multiple research papers and found it did not directly improve performance however it does help with the sensation of DOMS (Delayed Onset of Muscle Soreness) and can help improve flexibility. These in turn may influence recovery.

It can help reduce muscle tension and discomfort that can allow you to progress easier through your rehab plan and overcome injuries sooner

Yes. Massage is well documented to reduce both pain and relieve stress

We offer different lengths here at Motherwell Physio, from 30-60mins. We allow you to decide what you would prefer, and then we will fit into each session what areas you want covered. However please be aware that doing a whole body in 30mins only means doing each area for a few minutes so if your wanting bigger areas covered we would suggest you go for 45minutes at least.

It ranges depending on location, area and experience of the clinician but an average guide to follow works out between to £1-2 a minute. Our prices can be found on our pricing page

That is up to you. Some people get them as a once off, but most people tend to do it regularly once every 3-4 weeks.
